Digital Guardian is focused on the next generation of data protection with its move to the cloud. Vice President of Global Channels Marcus Brown explained what that means for partners in an interview with CRNtv.
"We've completely moved from an on-premise software model with perpetual licenses to a cloud-delivered SaaS solution with a subscription license," he said. "What that's doing is bringing a whole bunch of benefits for the customers and for the channel."
Delivering from the cloud allows Digital Guardian to take the burden of implementing the technology, buying the service on-premises and then managing it off the customer and the partner, said Brown. It also makes it easier for partners to learn about Digital Guardian’s latest technologies.
"They can get up to speed with our technologies – be enabled with our technologies – much, much faster," said Brown. "So we are actually creating a whole new generation of channel partner enablement, particularly for pre-sale and delivery, that will help the partners get up to speed with our technology both online and face-to-face by using partner environments in the cloud.”
Brown also spoke about Digital Guardian's investments in EDR Security, an offering that detects, investigates and mitigates suspicious activities on hosts and endpoints.
"In addition to the visibility and the controls that we offer as part of our DLP solution, we for some time now have been expanding the ability to look at threats on the endpoint, which is really what EDR is about," said Brown. "Because we have a very powerful endpoint technology built from the ground up to detect problems with data and protect data, we are in the perfect position to cover the EDR use cases."
